SO depeneing on what happens with my car...what do you guys think i should do...buy it back and drive the crap out of it the way it is...or buy it back and sell everything that is good on it...???

You should have never said "if i do part it out...does anybody want anything", beacuse this thread will become 100 people PMing you and leaving parts that they want. If you decide to buy it back and part it out, which is what I voted for, make sure you patients for people, time and a place to store the car. Be ready to ship things daily and remember, theres always Ebay.

haha thanks for the heads up...i just got done parten out a 2000 cadi...i wanted the engine made all my money back it was great...
what is some stuff like that worth on the board...engine...tranny things like that...?

Yea the motor and trans will get you good coin. the money will come with little parts like bumper, headlights, grille, doors, radio HU, speakers, both airbags on ebay, your 16's will sell fast...

If you have the space, I would do it. Money can be made cause people are always looking for things.

here's a better idea, buy the car back, im sure it will be very cheap, and then buy 2 new doors and a fender, and paint them, and you have a relatively nice cheap car. Thats what i would do if there isnt any serious frame damage.

go to the dealer for the seatbelts, they have a lifetime warranty

You could probably get $400-$500 for the motor locally, and about $600 for the tranny if its 5spd. If its auto, probably more like $300

Man.... it doesn't look that bad... Replacing that door will be the hard part... The fender can be banged out and have a little work done and be repainted... don't think it needs replacing.
that other door might even be fixable... I am sure with parts and bodywork and paint that should not be a total...
but I could be wrong...

 

Seems like there is no unibody damage/frame damage......I honestly think the insurance will fix it

 

the side pillars a and b are thrashed...completley...thats just my two cents..

I for one think you should keep it if it's a 5sp. Those cars have more of a soul.
Otherwise, part it out. You will get returns ($$$) on your effort and patience (obviously), and unless you have "enough" money, aka drive an M5 and not a 4th gen Max, that is never a bad thing. =)
It would be hard for me to part out my car though. I love that thing--I'm attached to it. Guess that makes me weird.

 

no totally understand what your sayen...thankfully i have olny had it for like a month and a half...so its not that much setimental..still hella pissed...i will be taken it to shop monday for sure to get estimates..so we will see i will keep everyone informed! i thought it was just the doors at first...then after looking at the unibody i really dont know what it will take...anywho..i wouldnt mind parten it out..hell if i can get the dang thing back cheep i will drive it for a billion years like that i wont worry about it thats for sure...throw a new door on there..who knows..any who..

um....i payed enough for it...on the other hand its worht more then i payed for it...
but no its not just body damage the front wheel dont sit strait...and the there is a lot of deeper damage..

 

i just have a question: how come on the column between the front and rear door, one section is body color and the other is black? did you attempt to strip them off or what?

 

yes i was in the middle of doing it...and never finished the back...my hair dryer broke so i needed to get a heat gun...

ok i didnt make this a list of what people wanted...i just wanted to see what people said i should do... with it...so far votes goes to keepen it....

 

i brought my max back for %600 bucks afetr it was stolen. buy ti back and fix it. i got $4400 back for my max was a 95 5 spd, OD reading 242,000 miles

so i didn't make out to bad. only thing is i lost like 10k investments. but the person who stole my max will pay for that somewhere down the road in there life time.

but your damage nothing big trust me, i go to these chop shiop garages all the time casue my firends own alot of them, and they do some serious chopping and welding there. your car has nothing bad at all for damage. it'll be fixed and safe to drive. nothign major.

well i talked to the shop today... the price is at 80% of 65% of what the car is worth.....so....that means

that i am very close to getting a new car.
we will see...

acutally the guy at the shop...it was 4300 with out cutten the pillar and that side of the car out..if it does need to get replaced...then its a good chance of it being otalled that was just a prelinary estimate...jsut the basics..he said he cant even tell with out taken the door off...so yeah..thats jsut what he siad.
it only has to add up to 65% of what the cars worth..
so yeah...i got az id...thankfully i got hit in neveda..and thats the law i guess..so anywho we will see..either way i got hooked up on a rental for ever long!

if your interior is tan I can use your a pillars, cup holder, rear deck/speaker cover. If your headlamps are in mint condition I'll take them too.

sorry guys...its about 5800 dollars with damage and getting fixed. I am sorta disapointed but i guess its worth fixing! if it aint perfect i am gonna flipp a lid. Its supposed to be a hella good shop so we will see what happens. as far as everything else. They said some time by xmas. thats like a month and a half! Its like i am getting another car again.
supposed to be gettinga decent medical settelment to....i will keep you all in formed and get some pics after its done...
