hard starting - please help!
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie who needs some help with hard starting. One mounth ago I got the CEL code 0407 so I have changed the CPS (ref). There was no improvement in starting and few days later the same code came back. After that, I have checked with an ohmeter the old end the new CPS and both seams to be good (both showed the same value).
Yesterday I changed the ECTS and the fuel filter. It didn't work either.
I mention that the ignition switch was replaced 6 mounths ago, the starter 1.5 years ago (34,000 mi) and the spark plugs (NGK Platinum) 40,000 mi ago.
When I try to start and put a little gas, the start seams to be easier.
I have no idea what else to do... please help!!!

My hanress was chewed up. Check the haynes manual for procedure on how to fix it.

Guys... I'd like to have your opinion on this.
I didn't have the resources and the time to verify the harness by myself, so I took the car to the Nissan dealer. They called to tell me that they have to begin with changing the starter because it didn't turn fast enough. My starter was replaced 1.5 years ago (about 35,000 mi) by Canadian Tire, but not with an original (it was an UAP). It worked fine up until a mounth ago.
Could you please advise me on the matter.

Finaly, I have changed the starter. It took me about one hour. I have cleaned the TB too. The start seams to be ok now. Not as fast that I would like, but ok. Probably because the new starter is 8 ***** and not 10.

Hard starting - Again....
Yesterday, after I changed my starter and clened the code, the starting was pretty good. But this morning the problem came back, the car started very hard with o lot of smoke. There was no CEL on but I checked the codes anyway. There was:
-0101 - CaPS (phase) - is the first time that I see this code
-0407 - CrPS (ref)
So I checked the voltage on the ECU terminals:
CrPS (ref): I read 0.8V-AC between 25 and 44,48 terminals, and not 2.3V that is specified in FSM. The sensor is good too.
CaPS (phase): I read 2.4V-AC between 25 and 46,47 terminals, and not 4.2V that is specified in FSM. I didn't check the sensor.
My conclusion is that the harness are good in both cases, but way the voltage is different with the FSM???? Could that be the problem???
Way the CEL is not ON but the codes are there?
What could I do more to fix this problem? Please help me... I'm disperate

Check the resistance.
Strange, I had a bad harness when my CEL turned on for the 2nd time in a year.
First time it was the sensor, 2nd time it was the harness.
0101 ... Might be your problem.
