tl-s are about 6.8-7secs 0-60, and they come with really skinny tires. u shouldnt have any problem with them. ive had a few run-ins with them. never had a problem yet, and im slower than stock at the moment, gotta love my broken 00 IM.
the 99-02? 3.2l style have 225/216, the ones b4 that had a 174hp 2.5 5banger or a 3.2, rated at under 200hp and 210tq , both theyre more of cruisers than races. that and they weight more, and theyre gearings not as aggresive.
that and the 99s and newer are made in the us, BAH! to that.

It's all on the driver. I've raced a CL type S and won. Never judge a race by the cars when they are even relatively close. I got spanked by a SER spec V on the highway because I hesitated a split second. Even though it was bad driving on my part he still won.
