you can do a number of free/cheap mods, just be imaginative! try the LudaLip or other home-depot mods lol

Explain again how "painting stuff" will make my car faster. I suppose if I paint "stuff", in a non well ventilated area my car would seem faster.

 

Its threads like this why i dont even like to come on the .org anymore. all the guy did was say how he liked a mod he did (that many of the members here have done mind u). wether it works or not hes happy but we had to turn this into a flame session. its rediculous and im getting sick of people being like that. the org sure has changed since i joined.

I haven't been on here other than to look at the classifieds in the past few days, but came across this mess today. This is an absolute joke, as apparently are a good portion of the members to this site. What the tread started out as has been put aside to make way for another member flame practice session. Don't worry, I know you guys are young, ambitious, and just full of knowledge gained by reading online forums. I guess way back when I started going on forums to gain info, I thought I knew everything too. Or maybe not and you are all just *******s. The difference is that I come on here 5% to follow up on the 95% time I spend working on cars in the real world. So to the young punks, I understand, you just aren't there yet. I hope your dreams of someday becoming an oh so cool site moderator go real well for you. To the older guys who should know better but don't, I have nothing good to say about you. But no need to follow that up with a substanceless flame or cute little smilies. There were some good responses to this thread, and to those members, I appreciate your input. Bottom line, I did this mod after reviewing dyno sheets done with this mod vs. stock vs. aftermarket intake. The decision to do so was based upon that, positive results others have had from doing so, and personal experience in modding. It is something I can easily change back to stock if deemed necessary, whithout incurring any damage or $$ spent. I really don't care any more. What a ****ing joke. Why doesn't someone post a nice little "ban him" response, you know you want to and have nothing better to do. This is the last time I check this- So keep it up losers. And if you want to, ****ing ban me, I'll find used parts and how to tips somewhere else. I can surely find the flame sessions anywhere else. I guess I just expected more from maxima.org. My mistake----

To the original poster: I'm glad you like the "hacked-airbox" mod that you did. I have it done too, and like it quite a bit. The best part is that if you change your mind, you can pick up a new lower airbox for around $30 on the F/S part of the forum. The thing I like least about the hacked airbox is that it pulls in more debris and gets the filter dirtier faster. I'm thinking about putting some kind of screen over the holes to block the larger pieces (bugs, leaf bits).

With regard to lag from this mod, most of mine comes from 2nd gear starts with the automatic.

Anyone have a link to the dyno that compares both hacked and stock?

Everyone else, who cares if it adds hp or not? Even if it does, its not a big gain. Some people think it adds power and do the mod, others think its useless and dont do it, just dont argue pointlessly for 3 pages (hopefully it wont get to 4).
Also, stop with the damn stereotypes about 17 year olds. There are older folks that rice out their cars, and there are teens that leave their cars stock or do them up with style.

I recently painted my emblems, and i love them. people flamed me for the writeup and how there shouldn't be a writeup, but hell, if people don't post their pride and joys on here, then why does the .ORG even exist? Let's all try to work on ourselves as a Maxima Owner kinship, because we're all here for the same purpose, and that's not to hate on people's love for their Fourth Generation Maximas.
