Oil leak

My Max has an oil leak coming from the real main seal, or atleast that's what I believe it is. Is this a drastic problem, or can it easily be fixed?

Any information would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advanced.

I wouldnt even worry about it... the only way of replacing the seal is removing the transmission and fly wheel...

Unfortunately, my friend, that seems to be a common problem in Maximas. Mine has the same problem, but it would probably be easier to just replace the entire engine - literally. As long as your oil levels are taking a drastic hit, I'd say what everyone is probably going to say - leave it alone...

Bummer. Though, if not a seal problem, could there be something else wrong with it? Something worse, or something slightly fixable?

most likely the rear main seal, drive shaft seal, if not, the tranny bearings may be bad.

all of the above aren't easy fixes at all. tranny had to be removed.
