Help me decide my next mod... Headlights

I'm not going to spend too much money on headlights or any retro fit for that matter. I'm just debating if I should go with smoked cefiros and deal with the gap and such.... or go with AE lights for a direct swap? My car is black as you can see in my SIG and my current lights are foggy and yellow. .... I'm leaning more towards the AE right now.

PS. Anyone ever tinted their fogs? or know of anything similar?

I say stick with your OEM lights - some PlastX (I think thats what it's called) or other plastic polisher will make your lights look like new - check the detailing forum. Even fine-cut car polish will work wonders on your existing lights. Changing the lights for no gain in light output or visibility is a waste of $$$ IMHO. The poor fit of the cefiros just adds to the negatives.

Right. I don't like the Cefiros only because it has the forced-fit look. I don't know, it might just be me.

I did try the polish and also the method of fine wet sanding to the highest grit I can find but it only cleared up just a little bit. (Maybe it's the inside) I think after 8~9 years (since 97) it's time for a change.

hmm... if there's no way to clean your existing lights up, then go for some nice OEM (or equivalent) (there are a few sets for sale for around 100 bucks in the 4th gen classifieds) replacements... you can do the AE mod yourself - that would look nice with your black car.

The AE look is much easier to dal with. But personally I think that the cefiros just have a better look.

I have a friend who owns a Car Shop and had tinted fog lights on a few I30's and 2 or 3 Maxs. I don't have any pics but I'll see if I can get some. Im about to go for the same look myself. I'm doing The smoked cefiros, tinted bumper lights and tinted fogs, as well as tinted Red/Clear Taillights.

I have those same AE style headlamps. They compliment my car very well. Those Cefiros look nice but all the cars i've seen them on, the fitment looks like crap, and to quote someone in here....yes, they do have a forced-in look.

^^^^^

The cerifios look nice in pics on this site but I've seen them in person on two maxima's and they both looked horrible.

after market headlights are a joke. you will not be making a wise purchase with either the CM style or the smoked cefiros. Either paint the stock lights AEish or get the OEM cefiros.
