Well, I got some HS9007 Xenon extreme white halogen bulbs from the dealer, but when I removed the old one, the new one won't fit in. It looks exactly the same. I was able to put the stock ones in and out so its obviously not me, but something with the lights. Has anyone else experienced problems trying to switch to Xenon lights? I blew the driver's side headlight and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to to switch to super whites. If the dealer installs it, it will be $50/piece. and since I already opened one of the packages, I don't know if they will accept a return. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thats a question I have too. How come everywhere I read says 95-99 uses 9004? I have a 96 Max, and I just bought 9004 Krypton lights. My friend's 99 Max headlights bulbs look totally different to mine.

It's possible. Do the stock bulbs and the new ones look the same? I don't have a 99 so I can't be absolutely sure they use 9004.

i think 9004 and 9007 bulbs look very identical, since both bulbs are dual filament and they almost have the same exact base. I don't think Nissan would change the bulb for 99, since the 9007 bulbs probably give some sort of different beam pattern and a different wattage.

Also, if you look in the filament of a 9007 bulb, it should look identical to the 9005/9006 bulbs. 9004 bulbs have a horizontal filament while the other bulbs like 9007 have a vertical filament or some sort.

Also, you can check on your headlamp to see if you see any letters like "HB1" or "HB4". Check what the wattage is, because usually, it's located on the headlamp somewhere. On my 96 Maxima, it says "65/45w" and that should be on all Maximas. Unless Nissan decided to change things around a bit without us knowing (which i highly doubt!).

I gave up. I returned the 9007 extreme whites and got a regular replacement halogen 9004. It fit in perfectly.
