Reverse switch replacement

My reverse lights dont come on. I tested the position switch on the tranny and there is no continuity so its definitely the switch. I would like to know if there is a way to take out the plug that the wires come out of for the switch, to gain access to the actual switch, without having to drop the tranny. Ill see if i can get a pic if you dont know what plug im talking about.
Thanks

The switch is in the bottom of the transmission. It can be replaced easily without dropping the trans. Buy it at your Nissan dealer for around $30.

But it is a very messy job, as the entire contents of gear oil will drain out when you remove this switch. A good time to plan on a refill with fresh lube.
