Battery Dead, Can't Open Hood

Battery Dead, Can't Open Hood
I haven't driven the max in a few weeks and apparently I had a battery drain of some sort while it was parked. I attempted to open the hood and jump it with my other car but then pulled the release and nothing happened.
I'm pretty sure the cable is busted as the release now stays in the open position without pulling on the release yet the hood remains latched.
Is there a way for me to open the hood through the grille? If it comes down to having to cut through the grille and unscrewing the latch, that's fine as I can always get a replacement grille.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

the hood release stays in the "pulled out" position on its own, meaning that there's no tension on the wire and the hood cable is most likely snapped.
just trying find out if there's a way to somehow partially disconnect the cable and still use it manually, or if I'll have to cut through the grille to get to the latch.

dude, you have the toughest of lucks. well, i've seen a jumper you can buy that only requires you to plug the cigarette plugs of both cars to charge the battery for a jump. if you can't open hood, that may be your quick fix.
other than that, i dont even know what to do with the hood.
