You might want to consider changing your chain also, on the slim chance it may a have got stretched even slightly ( the longer it's ignored the more chance of this happening) you'd still get some noise even with a new tensioner. Considering the amount of labour involved pulling the cover etc I chose to throw in a new chain as it was only like $60 and be done.

I pulled the motor out of the car and pulled the timing chain cover

I have the rattles also...when the car is cold mostly. I'm glad is really not that big of a deal....sometimes I think the chain will come completely off...glad I found this post.

So I guess if I also have to change the timing chain, I might as well let a mechanic do the whole service? Or is this an expert DYI
