9007 Conversion problems

I did the 9007 conversion with the ready harness from NTBK (like in the writeup in the stickys). The problem is that my high beams do not work for some reason...why is this? Another thing is that my interior lights on the gauge cluster dim sometimes after doing the mod...what can be done about this?

Sounds like you need to switch the ground and highbeam wires...

The best thing to do is cut the wiring... then solder it...

ok guys i have the bulds here right now but before i put them in i wanna know something, in the write-up there is a link to craig's page that tells you how to upgrade the harness by getting new sucket and stuff like that, my question is, if you swap the wires and file down the two lower nubs and just put the bulbs in will you get the same result as you would have gotten if you had upgraded the hardness?

I'm having lots of problems with this mod....first of all, the lights went out before I had a chance to switch the low beam and ground. Everything got fried nicely... Now I will order a new premade harness...so please tell me... which wires do I switch? The low beam and ground on the stock connector or the low beam and ground on the new harness where the stock connector plugs into? This is what I have...

You guys obviously didn't read the instructions thoroughly. READ IT AGAIN! The harness you bought is a 9007 harness. You STILL need to swap the low beam and ground wires to make it work with the 9004 wiring in the car. Then re-aim the headlights down to lower the beam. Again.... RE-READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AGAIN BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER.

I understand....which wires do I switch? On the 9004 stock connector or on the 9004 input connector on my new harness?

on the new harness

I also found this to be more difficult than it should be. On the new harness, when you look at the back of each headlight bulbs plug (where the wire go into the plug) you switch the middle wire with the left wire.

Do this on both of the plugs, middle wire and left or drivers side wire. Get rid of the nubs on the headlight socket, and you are in buisness except for adjustments.

Or, screw frigging with your wiring in your car and go get some 9004 Sylvania Xtravisions. These bulbs are incredibly bright. Going down a back road with the low beams on, is great, don't even need the highbeams. People still flash me, and I of course, let em have it!

the connectors got burned and then I tried putting in the bulbs and it doesnt seem to be working. It might be the bulbs though....but I'm not sure if this is the case since both filaments are still intact. The glass is warped though (there is a glass bubble sticking out)....what do you think?

I did and they dont work...thats what the problem is. I dont know if its the bulbs or the harness. I figure I'll order new bulbs first and if they still dont work then i'll know its the harness. Is there a way to check bulbs without plugging them into the car?
