Questions about ECU
I know you can't upgrade the 97 just yet,(hurry up Cheston) but since the 95/96 is so different from the 97-99 as far as engine controls and stuff, would you maybe get a little bit more performance just by switching to a 1995/96 ecu? Just wondering but if not I am going to get one upgraded and stuck in.
Not a good idea from what I saw. A stock '96 ECU running in a '97 only added 1.5HP and lost over 5lbs tq. That Cheston's test from last year. Think there were other problems with the test too but it didn't look promising.
I'm waiting for a good '97 ECU myself for a 5sp... hopefully with gains like the ones they saw on Nabil's car (as per Cheston's site... www.maximadriver.com).

the STOCK ecu dropped power,
but the Gforce one added more power.
please be sure to clarify that.

for example, my car was produced in Nov. 95 (1996 model year) so according to this guy if i buy an ECU from a Mar. 95 it will not work properly in my car.
Can anyone back this claim up??
96 ECU
IF anyone is interested in getting a spare ECU for upgrading, holla at me. A junkyard near me sells em for cheap! I have access to a 11/95 (month and year the car was produced) manual transmission se ECU for around $180. My car was also produced in 11/95 (model year 96 of course).
if you have a 96 maxima.
get a 96 ECU>
it'll work.
email me for the ECU info,
Gforce is having the group deal.. still..
