Parking Brake Replacement

Over the summer...it seemed my parking brake slowly stopped working, and now that winter is here....I would like to have it just in case of an emergency, or an empty snow filled parking lot. Anybody know how much it would cost to replace this? Im gonna have it done....its too cold to do it myself.

You're probably going to want to have both cables replaced, (one for each side). As I recall, the cables run under some components under the car, so you're probably looking at about 2 hours of mechanic time. While you're at it, you may also want to bleed the brakelines. The OE cables are pretty pricey, so shop around. Let's see, rough estimate - 110 bucks for the 2 cables, 100 bucks for time/labour, so anywhere from 210 - 300 should be about average.

This is assuming you don't take it to a dealership, of course.

each rear piece is 45 bucks apiece from rock auto. The poster above was not far off in his estimate.

I just bought a right rear today from rock auto because mine was corroded and no longer working. it would not release and the brake would stay stuck against the rotor.
