I found this set of tokico illuminas and springs.

I am taking these are tokico springs. Anyone confirm?

Also the drop isnt as low as stated on maxmods anyone know why?


Does anyone have this setup? How do you like it? Can you provide pics?

I believe the drop on it is around 1.5-1.7. I would get it unless you like the Tein S Tech look. Lifetime warranty the struts too, you can't really go wrong.

Same thing I bought. Love it and I am an old guy. The wife cannot tell the difference from stock, but I can. Car handles like it is on rails. I have taken corners at stupid speeds and haven't heard a tire squeal yet! I have my shocks set on 1 all the way around. I am going to experiment later on harder settings. I use to drive a Land Rover so I am enjoying the sure footedness of the Maxima. I do recommend this setup.

I am just gonna be disappointed if I buy this to find out they only drop 1.25 unlike maxmods says 1.3/1.5


Also what else will I need to purchase? I have all original suspension at 212K

so your going to be disappointed if your car is not lower by .05/.25 of an inch. Thats un-noticeable really. your car is at 212k, i would assume your suspension is probaly sagged a little bit. So really you wouldn't SEE that much of a drop. But you should feel the diffrence a lot more. i don't see why you should be disappointed. If you really are, you must be a perfectionist or something and just get some S-techs as you will not be disappointed in the drop aleast. 2.2inch or so.

The Tokico kit drops more then the Mfg. specs. You should replace the dust covers with KYB units, P/N SB103 & SB108. You should replace the front strut bearings and probably the mounts. The Illuminas come with new rubber bushings for the rear so you'll be all set.

Tom those dust boots from KYB stink, because they rip so easily...

I agree they do rip quickly, I only got 3 years out of mine. But the $14 boot protects a $150 strut from premature failure due to contamination & scratches on the piston from road debri. Plus the smaller bump stop gives a little more suspension travel. To me it's worth it to call the boot a maintenance item and replace it every 3 years. Sort of like buying cheap insurance that actually helps you drive better.

I bought this setup a couple months ago from the same guy and have been running it for about 3 weeks now. absolutely loving it. got them set on 3 all the way around. 5 way way too harsh for my daily commute, and haven't given 1 a shot yet. I replaced all the bushings and dust boots when I installed them as well. 155K, figured it was about time.

They are official Tokico springs as well. Here's before and after shots:

Oh, and I had a small issue with the seller. He only sent me the shocks at first and I had to call him up and let him know that he forgot the springs. but it was a quick resolve and no real harm done.

How is the ride quality on bumps or imperfections on the road?

We seem to have alot of pot holes in NYC. Would HR springs be a better setup then tokicos for NYC roads?

I've hit a couple decent sized potholes on purpose to find out how it handles them. it's certainly not stock, but it's not uncomfortable either...at least on setting #3 which seems to be the most popular on the org from what I've seen.

as for the HR's, I wouldn't know.
