The Injen is the worst intake you can put on a Maxima.

Injen + AutoTranny = Power loss

Injen + AutoTranny + Summer = Lazy dog performance, totally horrable but it sounds nice.

Dont tell me you want a CAI because your mechanic said the ABS was in the way of your intake?

well he showed me what was wrong and the stock intake really didn't fit. i'm looking at other people with '00vi's and they all have aftermarket intakes.

the injen looks great, i had one, car used to ping on hot days ? now im back to a frankencar midpipe setup, no ping at all. it looks great though, best bet is to buy a injen copy on ebay, then buy you some injen stickers later , and then swap the filter for a nice k&n and you will be set.

also check the 4th gen classifieds i see them come up for sale off an on, better than a new price for sure, good luck with it !!

SO... what would be the best intake for an automatic max? apparently the injen seems to be only worthwhile to ones ears, and from the sticky i read that the short ram/pop chargers also cause losses... so what's the verdict?

I see you just put the 00vi on. I kinda dont understand how the stock intake cant fit, seeing as how its the same size(space in the engine bay I mean), but I cant recall any 4th gen with a 00vi setup and stock intake(stock 4th gen nor 5th gen).

Nmex's suggestion should suit you well.

I'm planning on putting my Resonator back on my PR style CAI. Will I still have that mean sound the intake makes? I figured since it is a resonator it would resonate some of the sound.

It wont be as loud, but will still sound good, but this is the most subjective subject evAr ~

Well I wouldn't mind if I lost a little sound. I just want my throttle response back. I've been missing it for way too long now.

Yeah yeah yeah.. I know
I'll make sure that you will be the first to see them in late january .... and you know i'll be in lowish 13's because i'm going to have the exact same setup as Dandy Max, but with some better advanced timing, a strong fuel pump, afpr, and spray.....

Yeah but im getting it for CHEAP from a friend of mine.... so whatever..
I used to hate it... I still don't like it really..... just a cheap way to get into low 13's... I'll get a dyno slip, have some fun at the track, and probably never use it till the bottle runs up then sell it... haha

It's not only the accordian looking thing...

It's the plastic box behind the MAF that connects to the accodian tube.
