me me me

I have that setup. No problems, the ride is a bit Harsh on these NY roads. But the Tokicos suck so it is to be expected. I am going to a Sprint KYB AGX setup in the next few months though. I have 18x8's with 235/40/18 or is 235/45 not sure... I will go out to the car and see. No alignment issues at all.

Re: Re: me me me

You ask just about anyone here with Tokicos and they will tell you the same thing... They suck. They are slightly better than stock, and don't seem to last as long. I mean mine are still fine, and working OK, but the rebound and damper is just not there, it wasn't there on the first day of the install, and it's not there today almost a year later. Just be aware that they are not all that as far as their Maxima application is concerned. They make great struts for other cars I am sure, but I do not concern myself with other cars, just the Maxima since that is my current modding car right now. If you did not order the tokicos yet I would lean towards possibly getting the Koni's or if you have the time to kill, waiting for the AGX's. I have a set of sprints now, just waiting on the AGX's because I do not want to do inserts I want to do replacements.

Later...

No, most people on here will say that the Tokicos are fine. In fact, there are several cuurent threads with lots of people saying that they've had no problems with Tokico HPs. I have over 50K miles on mine with no problems.

Do you think that they are

a real performance strut...They may not have blown out on you, but do you think that their dampening and rebounding is going to be sufficient for anyone that really likes to throw the car into turns and wants to Auto-X on the weekends and stuff. Since he is spending money on struts to improve the performance of his car he should be aware of the other *better* options out there. Look at all the people that have switched out their Tokicos in favor of the Koni's... I can rattle off a quick list if feel it is neccessary.

Just because a few people on this board autocross doesn't mean that Tokicos completely suck. I guess I could get some custom coilovers with 24-way double-adjustable remote-reservoir dampers and say that Koni dampers completely suck ***. Besides, I don't remember dmbrazilian saying that he wants a full race setup. For most people, the lower cost and ease of installation makes the Tokicos a better buy.

I have had the tokicos/h&r's for a month and can say the ride is good. I have 18X7.5 with 225/40 no alignment issues.
Good setup until next summer then I will probably go with coilovers. If the KYB AGX ones are out get them but I thought someone said fall 2001?

I am in St Louis and have yet to find a single maxima member from here, much less anyone with a maxima in my area.

fastmax- the kyb's will run around $550 with shipping from what members say. They just gave another date of August for 1st shipment.

Thanks

About to order some H&R springs.
My max only has 42K on it
so I think I'll keep the stock struts on for now
and replace with the KYBs when they give it up.
