Check engine light

I just hit 142K in my 98' Maxima SE manual and the check engine light came on. Wondering if anybody know or know of a way to diagnose the problem. 02 sensor maybe? Thank you.

have you tried pulling your code via the sticky method?

Should this thread be locked?

If you don't have one I suggest you go to AutoZone or PepBoys and get the Haynes repair guide for your car. It will show you with pictures how to pull the codes for your car and diagnose your problem. Once you know whats wrong you can decide if you want to try and fix it or take it to your mechanic. I think they cost about $20 bucks from Auto Zone.

Check it yourself... Use the sticky that states what should be done, and if you do go to AutoZone to get it read, buy a Haynes while you're there.
