replaced all 6 coil packs... now misfiring worse! HELP ASAP

Ok so like the title says, I replaced all six of my coils... The car would randomly misfire off and on before I replaced them, now it seems like 1 cylinder isn't running at all(theyre all plugged in...). I did notice that when we pulled 1 coil out, the rubber boot on the bottom stayed on top of the plug... so what I did was pulled the rubber boot off the new one and just placed the new coil inside the old boot... That didn't work so then I tried pulling the old boot out with no luck. My friend has a tool that will pull the old boot out, and we're planning on replacing all 6 plugs and putting the boot that came with the new coil back on it... anyone else had a similar problem?

How do you know it wasn't a faulty injector that was causing the misfire in the first place? You DID check for that right?

leaky injector could be causing the mis-fires.

my friend's replacing the sparks tomorrow (I'll be out of town with work). He thinks we may have F'd the plug when we were trying to get the coil pack boot out. If it is the injectors, why would replacing the coils suddenly cause a huge problem?

According to your first post there was a misfire before you replaced them. The misfire is still there, so we're thinking that maybe the coil wasn't the issue to begin with.

Did you replace with 6 NEW coils? or 6 from another org or junkyard?

When last were sparks changed?

I dont have a link but you can test with multi meter (make sure its within spec) also with a long flat head screw driver, and listen to hear them ticking.

Worst case (if spark and coils are good) you could have the injectors pressure tested. Dont know how much this costs but hopefully not too much.

just checked my haynes, its says basically the same thing, listen with an "automotive s***hescope" or long flat head screw driver. If you dont hear any clicking the injector will need replacing.
Also take off the connectors and check for resistance. 10-14 ohms.

Hopefully after this you wont have any problems for a looong while . . . hopefully

Check the pins on the coil pack plugs. I bet you bent one putting the harness plug back on. Happened to me once, get a small needle nose and straighten it out. Then be carefull when you plug the harness connector back in. Make sure it's going in straight and clicks into place easily. If you have to force it, it's probably not lining up with the pins correctly.
