Daniel,

1. I followed your directions below to reset my airbag light. You may remember that I left the interior of my car open to a rainstorm:

>>>Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's door switch (DDS).

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine.<<<

At least I think I followed the directions. But now, not only is the light still on, now my open door light is on, won't go off, and I can't lock the doors after the car is running. any thoughts?

2. I've been looking for a Haynes manual for my 95 SE and can't find one anywhere. What to do?

Thanks
Mike

I'm out of ideas on this one. Maybe the wet wiring will dry out and the problems will go away. Maybe you have to pay the dealer to fix this. I hate to "surrender" and steer you to the dealer but sometimes there isn't a good alternative.

Any of the large chain bookstores should be able to order this for you. Tell the man:
Haynes Repair Manual #72021, Nissan Maxima 1993-1999
ISBN 1 56392 359 9

If you prefer to shop on the Web, try Amazon.com or BN.com.

Gosh, a bad Driver Door Switch (or associated wiring) could account for both symptoms.

Daniel, I'm pretty sure I ruined the door switch by clicking it too hard/fast when I tried to reset the airbag light. Will take it to the dealer to have the airbag checked out. (before I do, is there any danger in disconnecting the battery? Would that reset the airbag light if it's not defective?)will look at fixing door switch on my own.

by the way, went to amazon and ordered the haynes manual. Thanks for the advice; and thanks for being there for the rest of us!!

I doubt it.
