Start up idle problem, on cold start idle @ 1500 then to 750 when warm

when my car is cold in the mornings here in Canada it idles at 1500 RPM until it warms up a bit then it idles at 1000 and then when it wark up completely it goes to 750.

This seems high, even when cold and I'm wondering it this is s ymptomof dirty IAC valve or one that needs adjustment etc. I recently installed a Ypipe, Knock sensor and short ram intake also if that matters. I tried to reset the ECU by turing the screw on it back and forth (Like a write up said to) but I have no way to know if it worked.

Thanks to all for reading and thanks in advanced for the help

Normal idle for 95 is: automatic trans, 700 (+ or - 50) RPMs; and manual, 625 (+ or - 50) RPMs. Yours seems normal if it's auto.

Perfectly normal.

If you'd like to lower it a bit you can adjust the linkage on the cold fast idle cam.
The Haynes shop manual can help you. I have mine set at 1200 RPM's cold.

Definitely normal. My car used to idle at 700 rpm all the time. I just cleaned my throttle body and IACV last week, and now it idles the way it is supposed to (1300 +/-, getting progressivley lower as the car gets to temp, settling at 700+/-).

By the way, for those of you with the stalling during cold starts unless you pump the gas pedal problem . . . CLEAN THE IACV!!!!!! I had that problem for 2 winters, and mechanics couldn't fix it. I wound up doing it myself (tried changing the coolant temp sensor first - didn't fix it) and it was filthy. A thick coating on every surface of the IACV, as well as buildup inside the intake manifold, which obstructed about 1/4 of the opening . . . It's all clean now. Runs much better, and more importantly, starts up on the first try with no gas pedal!!!!!
