TRUE curb weight of early 4th gens

The official Curb weight for all 95-99s as posted on edmunds and pretty much all over the net is 3000 lbs, flat.

Now we do know that's not true depending on options, transmission choice, year, etc. What I want to know is what the TRUE stock curb weight of a 1995 5-speed is. I'm sure some of you guys must have gotten your car weighted. I can't really extrapolate what mine should have weighted based on its current weight because I'm not even sure how much I've taken out of it. But I do know that 95s have aluminum bumper supports and possibly less emissions equipment than later 4th gens (possibly).

So if anyone has gotten a 95 weighted, at stock, or near stock mass, please chime in and list what options you have.

well I can't really comment cuz I haven't weighted mine, but the 95 (and I think 96) are lighter then 97-99 maximas. one opf the reasons is the safety add ons (door bars...)
well that is all I know.

Hal's website said the car (a 1995 SE) weighted 2840 with leather/ac/sunroof/turbo kit but he doesn't specify if it had spare/jack, and it was lowered (I think aftermarket strut/springs are lighter than stock).

Point of this thread is that there are a lot of misconceptions regarding the weight of these cars depending on the model year and it'd be nice to have some of that cleared out.

Mine weighted 3100lbs at a truck weight station It's a fully loaded 5speed SE. The only option missing is the cd changer. That was with a full tank of gas, full interior, spare, and jack in it. However it wasn't stock at the time of weighting.

I believe my mods at that time was

18 inch volks
warpspeed alum ypipe
Greddy catback
addco rsb
Courtesy FSTB
PR HAI
RVM Lightened Pulley

I think that was it.

Assuming 6 lbs/gallon for gas, that gives us a dry weight of 2990 or so.

I post this whenever the subject comes up. My 95 GXE was 2972 without me in it, without spare/jack, and with about 1/4 tank of gas, stock of course (no weight removed or added besides what I just mentioned).

Also, I find www.nada.com to be muuuuuuch better for vehicle weights than any other site. It's spot on for maximas as far as I'm concerned.

At a full tank of gas my 95 Max (fully loaded SE) weighed in at 3128lbs exactly and I got the paper to prove it. My brother even joked about my weight by saying "I don't remember the car weighing that much when I bought it, It must take after you." But I wasn't in the car just to clear things up.

That wasn't the reason I was going to buy them anyway, but it does motivate my decision

They are plastic vs glass so I guess that is why they are lighter.

96 se auto sunroof: 3110 1/4 tank, rsb, strut bars.
98 se 5 spd loaded: 2800 1/8 tank stripped interior with just door panels, drivers seat, and dash, no sound deadening
96 gxe 5 spd bare bones: cousin said it was 3100. makes absolutely no sence. i think he ment with him in it. hes about 220.

After reading my old thread that Nmex posted, it appears my 95 is heavier than my 96 was by about 70lbs... weird. Those would have been weighed at the same track, though obviously about 3 years apart.

I haven't weighed my car, but I believe the curb weight is 3,010 lbs. It is a 95SE, 5-speed, leather, sunroof, Bose, 15" sawblades.

I doubt very much. 5lbs I'd say. I can weigh the back seat of my turbo car some time (leather) and compare it to my beater (cloth) to give some idea when it's warm out and I think about it. Heck I can weigh the passenger seats too.

They usually guesstimate the weight. Mine showed 3500 the first time I smogged and 3000 the second time. Since only the front end is on the dyno for the smog.
