Side impact airbags and heated seats

I have leather seats which I would believe are from a 98 or 99 maxima{they have one pocket on pass side} with side impact bags. My question is does it make sense to even venture to try to get the air bags hooked up to work, and if so is it to costly? Second question is how would I know if these seats are heated and would I be able to hook them up if they are?

i believe in 98-99 heated seats and side airbags came in the deluxe seating package option, so if you have one then you automatically have the other

98-99 Deluxe Seating Package-
* Front seat side air bags
* Heated front seats
* Heated outside mirrors
* Low windshield-washer fluid warning light
* Heavy-duty battery

you dont want to bother. there is way too much stuff to hook up. both sides have thier own sensor and wiring, which connect to the main unit. the yellow plugs are the airbags. then you have the power seat wires, which im pretty sure all maximas have, so you should have them connected. the heated seats are the last plug. im not sure if all maxes are prewired for them, but the plugs for the switches are under the center console and i want to say one is blue and the other black.

well the power for the seats are hooked up and working, you said dont bother with the air bags but the heated seats can hook up . now would it be better to find a center console that has the swicthes already or do i have to make my own{i will have to check the wiring under the seats}

if the wires are under the seats for the headers just buy the switches used.

for these sorts of issues, you might find the Factory Shop Manual to be extremely helpful.

I wouldn't consider the 4th gen side airbags to be a huge advantage. I was broadsided in my old Max and it cost nearly $8000 to fix...a large portion of that was replacing the airbag module. They are very small and wouldn't protect you a whole lot in an accident where they would be necessary since they only cover your chest, your head is still unprotected. All the sensors, etc. would be a huge pain to try and figure out.

Why would I lie? This also included a new door, paint, labour, interior trim, etc. and remember this is Canadian $$. The car was in the shop for well over a month. The largest portion of the price came from the airbag and its components.
