For now I have a Nesa 7" monitor. Hoping to get rid of it and go back to just a headunit and a din pocket.

it was a custom install...it's obviously a single din unit, but it didn't directly bolt up to my stock stuff. what i did, sounds ghetto but worked great, is used a soldering iron and poked holes in the sides where the stock dash piece has screw holes, and i then screwed screws into there more or less. sounds weird, but was pretty straight forward and simple. it doesn't budge at all...

I already spent $20 for a dash kit with just a plain cup underneath the single DIN H/U opening but yours is way more practical. Where did you find the cupholder, dealership or salvage yard?

Mine was from an Xterra. The Pathfinder and Altima have the same unit too:

This particular unit is overpriced. I've bought 3 such units on ebay for $100 each (plus shipping)

Here it is in my car (my bad, forgot to resize):

I have an alpine flip out monitor in the top of the double din opening, flush mounted the drive and buttons from my xbox below that, and flush mounted the buttons in the flip open tray, and I also have a kenwood pnp satellite radio flush mounted where the ashtray/lighter once was.
