I have Madico Charcool (not CharcOAl) non-metallic 35% all around. Looks good, keeps the interior cooler, and has a very slight greenish tint to it (not gray like most films).
well i dont want 5% becaues u can bearly see out of it at night and im going to get 15 on the back and 30 on the front becuase before its noticable but not a lot. where as if i had 15 or 5 all around you can easly see thats illegal and i would get stoped again. cops where i live have nothinig to do and usually wouldnt have stoped me for my tint but i know for a fact they would if my tint was darker. but yea im not 100% sure what this guy uses as far as high or low product quality he said he only has 1 to choose from and it looks pretty good so we shall see. ill post some pics of it when i get it done.. i have an appt for next friday 1/6/06.

Different companies rate thier films differently. Some companies rate as if applied to clear glass. Other go by what it will be on tinted (factory green) glass. Ones that sell 15% are done on tinted glass (70% on new cars). SunGard and Llumar 20% are generally darker than most 15%.
There are alot of reasons to never use 5%. 5% will draw more heat than it reflects. This will make your car hotter. This added heat also destroys the film. All 5% has no warranty. It will turn purple in less than 2 years. If you are ever in an accident that is qestionable of fault and you have 5% they will find you at fault. Most states can give you a ticket for having it this dark, $875 in some states!
When you do deside on the shade never go for the cheap stuff. Any thing worth doing is worth doing right. Never use 3 layer dyed film. This will only last about 2 years before it starts to fade or peel. Always ask for the performance lifetime film.
This is my job, I love what I do.....People who think that they need to black out thier car should buy a Limo!!!! All you are doing is making it worse for the rest of us. States are pushing harder and harder for a NO TINT LAW. Be responsable. We don't need to all have California laws. They don't allow any film on front doors.
