shes throwin me codes =(

7-1, 1-15. Multiple Cylinder Misfire and Fuel INJ Sys Right bank:lean. This just started this morning when i went to start my car, the check engine light started flashing about 10 seconds after i started driving, i was pretty sure that ment a misfire, so i turned the car off, turned it back on and i just had the steady check engine light. Last time i was driving my car it was fine, Its a 97 5 speed 160k on it, i was hoping bad gas maybe, and i was under 1/8 of a tank...who knows...any insight anyone?

Bad coils, and maybe a MAF (lean code)

Check the coils using the common sense method.

thanks for the quick reply, I pulled the coils out, but i dont see to much sign of abuse in them, what exactly is the common sense method, or what methods can you use to determine if they are toasted?

See if the idle is rough, then unplug and replug each coil to see if the idle changes..

Check the resistance of each coil.

A misfire from a spark would dump raw fuel into the exhaust causing a rich condition. A misfire from lack of fuel will cause a lean condition. I think you have a fuel related issue. Check your injectors.

Guys, one more question reguarding my max, I usually used plat oem plugs, never thought about them to much, at 140k(160k now) i threw in the coppers because i am broke. I know those dont last as long but after i put the coil packs back in i took it for a test drive and go no CEL but going up any sort of hill and diggin into the peddle a little i felt a noticable amount of sputtering, how long are the coppers good for? I love my max but its such a love hate relationship i've been waiting for a good reason to save some money for tillys 3.5 swap can always dream btw if this is any insight to the problem i currently have bad strut mounts, one bad wheel bearing, belt looks like its about to crack in half and bald tires lol, gota love the max i will not give up on her

i think you are supposed to change out coppers (or at least re-gap them) every 10000 miles
