235/45/17 tires with drop...lets see!

Just like the title says.......

I'm going to be looking for a new set of tires and I wanted to see if anyone is running 235/45/17 tires on any kind of drop. Please specify your suspension setup and inches dropped. Also specify rim width. Don't forget to post your pix.

Thanks.

235/45/17 on a 17x7 wheel (GOOD size, IMO).

Now I have 235/40/18 on a 18x8 wheel, but I wish I got 245's.

ewuzh....

Do you have a side shot of your car to show the drop? How much are you lowered? How much finger gap?

My rims are also 17x7.5 . Does the 235 bulge out much on the sidewall?

Yeah I have a sideshot but I will have to dig around to find it. It's an eibach prokit (1.5" drop) with 2.5 finger gap in front I believe. It's the mildest drop compared to everything else out there (Progress, Tein S-tech).

I like the look when tires bulge out a bit. It makes them look beefy and important.

nope. 235 i think is the widest tire that can be recommended to fit on a 7.5" wide rim

I'm looking to get a similar setup to what you had but with 18x8 in front and possibly 18x9 rear using KYB AGX struts and Eibach ProKit springs. Do you forsee any rubbing or any other suspension problems from this setup?

what size tires are you thinking of? the lower the profile the wider the tires are. Its strange don't ask me why but everytime I see 235/35/17 compaired to 235/45/17 the 1st ones are a tad wider. Rubbing is more of an issuse in the front not the rears. you will rub the plastic covers on the sides while making a sharp turn.

I'm loving the new wheels........what a difference in looks. I think its how the colors on the wheels and my car that made it look good, who knows. I'm looking into a new set of tires in a month, I just don't like the gap I have right now although it isn't that bad. Can you recommend a brand that will give me a good all season performance and grip, yet something that would last a little longer than 30k miles? By the time I get me the new tires, I'll have the nicks on the lips buffed out and probably have the spokes painted dark bronze.

235/50/17's rear (17 x 8), 225/50/17's front (17 x 7.5). Sitting on Illumina's and H&R (~1.5").

These were the stock G35 Coupe tires, when I retread, thinking 235/45/17 around (to facilitate tire rotation).

not quite what you asked for, but close enough. 245/45/17 on 17x8 wheels.
