It finally happened

It was bound to happen sooner or later, looks like it was sooner.
Some j@ck@ss ran into me yesterday in a parking lot putting a good sized dent on my passenger side. He claimed he didnt see me, which I find hard to believe due to the size of my car. I took some pics at the scene with my camera phone.

It should buff right out
.
.
Here is the car that hit me, an 02 Celica

.
.
.

My car should be going into the shop by the end of the week. Im going to have the whole car repainted when they repair the doors.
The car still drives fine, and doesnt seem to pull any. Hopefully there is no frame damage.

Yeah, he was traveling at a good rate. He didnt even appear to try and brake. I saw him coming, and figured he would stop being that I was already on the main road and he was exiting a smaller parking lot but he claims he never saw me.
If I wouldve stopped, I was already in a postion to where I still would have gotten hit. It would have been the front end though and more then likely it would have done more damage.
He has insurance, and I will get a rental even if I have to use my insurance which they say they will get reimbursed by his insurance for it.
I had some new goodies I was getting ready to install soon, which looks like they will have to wait now.

Sorry to hear man. I think they will just replace the doors and do some side work. As long as he didn't bend the frame you should be good. P.m me on your lights. I have more time?

Wow, that is terrible. Good luck with the body shop and insurance if it's going that route. I hope your car will be back on the road as soon as possible.

Sorry to hear about your accident...you've put a lot of work into your car and it's one of my favorite 4th gens...similar to what I'd love my car to look like at some point.

I doubt there is any frame damage...I was broad sided in my old Maxima and the damage was worse than how it appears in your pic but my frame was fine. At least you're getting a nice new paint job!

yeah, my mom was driving the max from work, when a semi tried to merge into her lane and completely screwed up the driver side doors. Luckily she wasn't hurt, and it was only the doors, just like in your situation. Shouldn't be so hard to replace, nor that expensive.

Oh my sweet Jesus. Good thing your ok flavor. I had a feeling by the title of the thread that something bad happened.

Good this is he has insurance, and he will be paying for everything. Hope the car comes back better than before, also you'll have a fresh new paint job. Make sure its atleast a 1 stage paint job.

Good luck and keep us posted.

A kiss. Cars like to have sex, though they usually do it when their owners aren't around. Tire marks on the roof are a sure sign. Sometimes it's love at first sight, and that's when the other person says 'I can't imagine what happened' or something like that.

That sucks. Sadly, parking lot accidents are usually private property, and as I understand it your insurance company may still have a hard time getting the other guy to pay.

1) I hate people who speed in neighborhoods and parking lots.

2) I hate people who turn/merge/exit without stopping or looking.

Yup, there trying to dispute it.
Either way,my car will be fixed. If I have to I'll pay my deductible and have it fixed. My ins. said if it comes down to that they will take them to court to get the money back.
