You'll get more of a response out of the AUdio and Electronics section of the org. Plus they have pics of most of the guys on here setups.

i had bose and my deck stopped working like yours. i installed my aftermarket aiwa deck from my last car using a converter from crutchfield which is a direct plug n play device so you can keep the bose, which actually sounds great. if you cant strip wires and crimp, dont try it yourself but it was super easy for me. the front console comes right out and everything was straight forward. i also installed my own sub/amp and stuff, ran wires and what not. if you hvae any questions IM me.

If you cut the rear deck apart, you can make 6x9s fit. I would stick to 6.5s because it requires no custom work and I've read they reproduce sound more accurately than oval speakers.

Sounds pretty good inside the car and it doesn't sound loud at all when you step out, which a lot of people like.

Kenwood Headunit, running stock bose speakers all around using a converter. In the trunk I have a 10" Rockford Fosgate Sub, and a crappy, crappy amp. Trying to figure out my 1000w Kenwood amp.
