got paint??

I finally got some color on the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the stillen kit have to have flex agent add to the paint?
The body shop say no that it will change the color/texture of the paint and they are using a flexable primer and the new paints are flexable enough not to crack.

they are doing me a favor and doing the whole car for just for materals (including the body work). like $600 so I don't really want to **** them off I was just wondering if it would crack and peel off if they didn't use the flex agent.

if they don't, just stay far away from any parking curbs and you'll never know the difference.

Some Please Help Im A Newbie To This Forum

PLEASE HELP,for some reason I cant start a thread can someone start one for me PLEASE. My problem is: Just the other I put gas in and my car did not start, it make alot of clicking noises in the starter when i turned the key, eventually 5 minutes later it started. I was 350 miles away from home. The next morning again starter clicks but doesn't start. A few minutes later it starts. Decided to leave in the garage and borrow my dads truck. I figured the starter was going out, still original one my maxima is a 97 auto with 198,000. Well, I got a new starter and replaced it I didn't notice any loose wires or something out of the ordinary. When I tried to start it I got the same noises click, click, really fast. I checked the battery and I got 12.56volts. What gives? Any suggestions. Thanks great forum

I thought it would be the starter, but you may also want to check your coils as well. Does it even attempt to turn over? Check the alternator while you're at it.

try the stickies as well. welcome.

back tot he subject at hand, no you dont really need it since most new systems have some sort of flexing agent in it. what's most important is that it is prepped properly, because if it is not and it does flex, it will peel right off.

They cleaned with soap, water and (rs500??), sanded it then put on a primer. I'm really worried about it. Alot of $$$ to throw away if it cracks but if you put the flex agent in then it will not match and I want it to match.

it sounds like theyre dooing the right job.

how is that alot of money? you should be glad they're not painting it with a paint roller and a gallon of behr from homedepot for that price. full repaint is about 2500, full repaint+ bodywork is alot more. i understand you want it done right, but your friend is probably shooting the bumpers on the car to save on time, since you're not paying him for it, which means he would have to add flex to ALL the panels, which isnt recomemded. unless you're planning on paying him the actual amount, and he's willing to give you a written warranty, then consider yourself lucky you got what you got for that price.

I am very lucky!! and thankful but once you add the cost of the body kit ($1500+) in it's still alot of money. And I don't want to mess it up. they have had my car since late sept. If they are going to do it at least do it right, you know what I mean, so i dont have to redo it.
