This came from SpringMax in a post a few months ago:
"Options to remove limiter:

Buy an SE ECU for the same year as your car from a junkyard $85 - $200
Buy some Unit Apex'i has for like $150 that removes it
Cut the speed sensor wire(don't recommend this)
Buy a Fields Fuel Controller ($220)"

What does the rev/speed meter hook up to? also does it display speed as well? does it do anything other than remove the governor?

waareagle, if you guy the speed sensor wire, the check engine light will come on.

sx7r, how does the apex unit work?

maximaR, are you sure you're speed limited? most autos i've seen have the security and convience package... if the car doesn't have the chrome exhaust finisher or variable intermittent wipers, then you probably have the limiter.

im pretty sure i am , i was on a highway racing well ,,, trying to catch , a mercedes , and i hit 112 or 115 and the rpms just dropped to like 2500... im not sure if it was just a gear shift of the limiter , but it felt like the limit, or it would have been one really bad shift ....

I would really not recommend cutting any wires to get the limiter off. I think I remember reading on here somewhere that you can disconnect some plug somewhere and the limiter will be taken off as well as the speedometer. This is not as permanent as cutting wires. I dont know about the check engine light as I have never done it and never will. I know at least one person has done something similiar to this but I dont remember who.

it hooks up to a few wires off the ECU harness. it displays the speed, rpms, trip meter. there's various timers on there, it'll do 1/4 mile times, 0-60 times, and some others. i've attached a pic of what it looks like.
