Ypipe causing clutch to slip?

I just had a warpspeed ypipe installed on my 96 maxima. As soon as I try to test out the added horsepower my clutch slips and my rpms redline as my car barely accelerates. Could this be caused by the ypipe? ECU? or just a shot clutch? IF it is the clutch could you please recommend a clutch for street driving as I dont race at the track or have turbo.

Probably best to just replace it with an OEM clutch.

check the fluid in the reservoir, you could have a leak in the line.

true true....how many miles on your max....itas might just be time for a new clutch...all depends on the previous owner if there was one and how they drove....

The amount of clutch fluid doesn't dictate how well a clutch grabs, at all.

Whoever the hell said that...

And NO...no mods besides an ENORMOUS amount of power (more than clutch rating) will make it slip

Clutch's slip because no grip = worn down = time for new one

Maybe you have an exhaust leak!! This can simulate a slipping clutch

Your clutch is probably worn out pretty badly, just not quite badly enough that with the stock amount of torque it would slip while in gear, but the added 15tq or so from the ypipe just pushed it over the edge. Which means that you need a new clutch.

Check codes to see if you maybe have a bad knock sensor
Why would a bad knock sensor cause his clutch to slip?

AFAIK it doesn't really add any peak torque (or not very much), just makes the curve far more favorable in the nether regions of the rev range. If he's not making any more peak torque then it won't make a difference. I think his more enthusiastic "testing" right foot nudged it over the edge.

Ypipe adds about 15ft-lb of peak torque, and throughout the powerband.

So? The point is not enough peak torque is added to be the difference-maker.
