How do I know if my oil is circulating or not?
My oil light is on and the car doesn't start, I'd like to know the oil is doing it's job. I can't think of a way to tell so i'm hoping one of you does
FYI I may have blown/overspun my oil pump

Oil light on means low oil pressure. Your motor might be toasted if the oil light is on in conjunction with the car not starting but we need more info. Does it turn over when you try to start it? Is the motor siezed such that it won't even turn over? Any strange noises when you try to start it, or the last time it ran? What were you doing when the problem occurred?

I missed a gear, The motor ran and started fine (perfect), I drove about 3 miles or so and it killed when I put in the clutch and hasn't started since. The engine turns over easily, It's definatly not siezed at all (yet anyway)
I have another cam sensor to try but I obviously want the oil to be circulating when the engines running and before messing with anythng I was wondering if there way to tell if the oil is circulating or not.
I'm hoping I popped some seal near the oil pump
PLEASE HELP,for some reason I can start a thread can some start one for me PLEASE. My problem is: Just the other I put gas in and my car did not start, it make alot of clicking noises in the starter when i turned the key, eventually 5 minutes later it started. I was 350 miles away from home. The next morning again starter clicks but doesn't start. A few minutes later it starts. Decided to leave in the garage and borrow my dads truck. I figured the starter was going out, still original one my maxima is a 97 auto with 198,000. Well, I got a new starter and replaced it I didn't notice any loose wires or something out of the ordinary. When I tried to start it I got the same noises click, click, really fast. I checked the battery and I got 12.56volts. What gives? Any suggestions. Thanks great forum

2. Once you get it started, i would hook up an oil pressure gauge and make sure the pressure is to spec.

update:
I charged the battery and got the car to start, It runs really rough and tries to kill at idle idle rpms. If you guys can think of anything else to try i'll do it because I'm getting a new motor anyway and there's no way to make this one worse.

Sounds like bad timing, get that crank position sensor checked.
