Starting Question?
Hey guys,
I dont post here a lot, but heres my question. When I start the maxima (98 5spd SE..stock) it starts up goes up to 1500rpm(or w/e cold idle is) drops down really low like just before stalling maybe like 400rpm then goes back up to 1500. Its quite weird, its never actually stalled yet and only does it when its cold. Also I notice when im coming to a stop and I push the clutch in and take it out of gear it does the same thing the revs go down to about 400rpm then go back up to idle. Not sure why this happens, some what annoying. Other then that the car runs fine. No engine codes or anything. If anyone else has had this problem or has it could anyone tell me what it is? Just some additional information. The car has rougly 285,000kms(~177,000miles), original engine, original clutch, its been well maintained and treated well.
Thanks
Chris

My car does the exact same thing, i know its not right but its done it since I got the car and other than that it runs great. I periodically get a code (about once a week that lasts for a couple days) that comes back as an emissions problem. I plan to get it tested soon as I have a second to do it.
I'd also very much appreciate any info on this as well.
Thanks in advance
Luke
