Starter change on 99 (with ABS valve box)

Has anyone changed a starter on a 99 with the ABS valve module?
Did you pull the battery?
Hard to get at starter?

You don't have to pull the battery.. just disconnect the negative side to the battery. Anytime you are going to do something with electronics its always nice to cut the power. There is no difference from removing a starter from a car with abs then a non abs. 1. disconnect the negative side to your battery, remove your intake tubing and have an extention for your wratch when getting to the bolts. If you have never removed it, you'll probably have to put a little muscle into to loosening the bolts. I believe its 2 bolts. I could be wrong it might be 3. The starter sits right above your transmission. Its pretty easy to see.

2 bolts, 17mm and 19mm IIRC... the big one is on tight - so make sure you have a breaker bar (assuming it's the original starter).

As Nalo already said, ABS won't affect access, just remove the stock intake tubing and be sure to disconnect the battery.

No it doesn't interfere - the ABS valve body is to the right of where you will be fiddling with the starter.
