need new mid-pipe...advice?
i've had a rattle under my car for the past month and finally took it in to the dealer to get it looked at and they said the mid-pipe had become too coroded(sp?) and rusted and snapped from the muffler. So they quoted a new mid-pipe for me at around $260. I know warpspeed and budget have mid-pipes for about 100 bucks cheaper. Can anyone who has bought and installed an aftermarket mid-pipe give any input on this? I want one that is as close to stock as possible and with as little noise as possible. I don't want a raspy, fart can sounding pipe. Any help would be great, thanks.
Is the mid-pipe the same as the B-pipe? In other words, the pipe that connects the resonator and the muffler?
I bought one from Warpspeed and it doesn't fit. I've tried to adjust it a dozen times and it still hits the axle and the body on bumps, and I have stock "4x4" springs! I'll have to get another pipe if I'm ever able to put new springs in the car.

Yeah I wouldn't rule out getting an aftermarket one altogether. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had good luck with another brand's B (mid) pipe. There are guys out there running turbos ad 3" pipes with springs, so I'd imagine there's got to be someone out there with a decent 2.5" pipe.
If you don't want it loud, get Buget's resonated stainless B pipe, cheaper and better quality than oem. You can get the unresonated and add one after if you don't like the sound. Or you can get a bosal oem replacement b pipe on fleabay for just about 100, but its up to you on cost and type. Good luck, avoid the dealer, unless you want to pay alot more than needed. The b pipe is very easy to install, just getting the rusty one out.
If you just want an easy fix take it to a small exhasut shop and have them weld in a new section. Easy fix that should not cost more than $100. You should never take your car to the dealer unless it is under warrenty...especially for an exhaust issue.
