Pissed...Verry Pissed...Any Help?

Ok...i just got my remote starter professionally installed. everything works, trunk release, unlock, lock, alarm, it beeps, goes off, shock sensor, everything...except the damn thing wont remote start!!!! ( defeating the purpose ) .. the installer told me the unit being bad would be his only guess, he tripled tested the wires ( i was sitting right there as he did it ) and it's working fine their, otherwise, with the remote of itself it's not engaging...is their anything about our cars i should know. it's an Audiovoxx Ax901 Remote starter i got from bestbuy ...im outside the 14 day return and really dont wanna wait years to get another replacement from the company. my cars a 98 maxima gxe...to my knowledge the 98's dont have an immobilizer in the key so that cant be it...anyone have any idea's? ...im down $200 for absolutely nothing....

they told me if i got hte replacement i can take it back and he'd fix it for me free...but before all that i wanna know wat yu guys think

I think 98+ does have the immobilizer.
Also we have 2 starter wires, just make sure he has both of them hooked up.

your installer is a nub :] . Nissans has two starter wires You will need a relay in order to power the second starter. I dont believe the 98s have immobilizers im pretty sure its only 99s. Im assuming your auto ?

wow dont make this as complicated as it seems. i have installed MANY remote starters two of which have been my own maximas. Everyone is right about the two starter wires that need to be wired in. you DONT need a relay. the remote starter brain should be labled ignition 1 and ignition 2. both need to be wired properly(do a search for remote starter install to get your maximas correct wiring color to tap into.) dont be afraid to double check that guys work you may be suprised. personally i have a 99 and i have the immobilzier and i had to go the extra length to wire it up properly so as to disengage the immobilizer ONLY when the remote starter is active. and no i diddnt hide a key in the steering column thats ghetto. all im saying is search it out maxima.org has the info you need.

hu ?

remote start/alarm should be labeled ign1 and ign2. ive done over 25 remote starter installs 10+ of them on maximas two of those my own. as long as he diddnt buy some no name POS then he has to ign wires on the brain they dont need a relay. now if you have immobilizer you'll know it. look at your key. the black oval thin nissan key means no immobilizer....the larger fatter nissan key with what looks like a small removable plastic piece is the immobilizer key car cant work without it.
