B&M is the best I have tried. A few of my friends have it and I think its the best. Ive tried cars with stillen, passcetter and the custom maxima one and the b&m is the nicest one of them all, thats what im going to order when i have the money.

This is an SRE-like STS from e-Bay. It only cost me $20. It is all steel so its not that cheap aluminum kind that breaks after a while of usage. Quality is really nice, nice welds as well. It's only about 1.25" shorter than the stock shifter but the throw is definitely shorter. Just put new shifter and e-brake boots from Redlinegoods.com. Oh and the new Greddy ****.

Like I said, it's an SRE-like STS from e-Bay. It is an STS. The stock shifter used to sit taller than that.

You asked for peoples opinions on the shot shifters they have and he gave it to you. $140 is about right for a b&m shifter. Contact Y2KSESteve I think his user name is. I think he can get you one for a little less.

I can't find any "SRE shifter" auctions on ebay. And what's this "SRE-like" shifter?

DR-Max: How does the SRE feel? Do you have problems to put it in 3rd sometimes? I do with mine, is it only me?And sorry for highjacking the thread, but would a cut stock shifter benefit in shortning the throw? Thanks

SRE off ebay here, i cant justify spending over a 100 on another shifter when this $20 works perfectly

heres a recent thread on STSs: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=442912

You're right, Ceasar...it is almost identical. Both packages (B&M/Courtesy) have the sts that come WITH a pivot. IMO, the pivot is what gives the B&M/Courtesy a superior edge. The Courtesy doesn't come with the heavier shift **** like the B&M does.

Only thing some people don't like about the B&M/Courtesy design is the 1st/3rd/5th gears are positioned closer to the trim. Though if those people took time to shift gears you can see the design is optimal for 2nd-3rd and 4th-5th gear shifting.

Here is a write-up I made a while back showing the difference in throw between stock and w/B&M:
Throw Comparison/Review

Also, here is a write-up I did when I first heard of the Courtesy STS...I live in Dallas so I decided to go over there myself to check it out.
Courtesy Packaging Review

PS...I couldn't begin to imagine how much a stock shifter would SUCK now after having the B&M for 2 yrs now.

It did not fit because nismo does not make an sts for us. You bought a cheap knock off.

I like my B&M, but just recently after I broke it in it rattles slightly in 5th gear when my rpms near 3000. THe rattling increases from that point as I rev it up even higher.

to the poster, why don't you take a few minutes and look through a couple pages back? you'd see 5 other posts that would answer your question in minutes. Sick of the same questions being asked everyday by lazy people that can't go back a few pages to search for their topic. Moderators should ban people for posting the same topics that are found within 5 pages. Sorry for the rant but it's getting annoying.

Bad motor/tranny mounts make your shifter rattle. My tranny mount is pretty much gone, gotta order one from Pinnacle Nissan.

LOL ! this has to be the shortest STS in any maxima !! nice work

Type of Shifters:

- Stock: "Row Boat" Shifter
- Short Throw Shifter (STS)
- (*NEW) Nub (NTS)

i like the idea...but then again, there's no gear indicator, so you're kind of SOL to know exactly if you're in D. Can't be a huge problem though.

I would cringe if my 5spd shifter was that low..

i had a question and i posted it bro get over it you arent forced to read into the post. A lot of people had something to say on the topic so it wasnt a "lazy" attempt for an answer it was just put out there for the purpose of having a forum on.
