symptoms of a stretched timing chain?

I've been getting an annoying squeaking sound coming from my engine bay, which has been getting more frequent over the past 2 months. At first, I thought I needed to replace my struts/springs because they're shot, but I realize that I hear the same sound when my car is in "P" (park), and the engine is on. Other than the annoying squeaks, I have no driveability problems.

What are the symptoms? And I can I get this fixed?

You have to be more descriptive.

1. Does it squeak while turning the wheel, does it squeak in neutral, does it squeak while idling and revving the engine..

2. The belts maybe new, but they still could be loose.

It should be your serpentine belt and not timing chain.

Thanks for educating me on this.

My symptoms include squeaking when the car is in drive (after then engine has warmed up), and in the park. It does not squeak when I turn my steering wheel or rev the engine.

Does the squeaking get louder/come on off when you have the a/c on ? Prolly your belt.

Just to narrow it down a little, if it was your timing chain, it would be a rattle. This usually occurs when the engine is still a little cold and the oil pressure has not built up. The VQ30DE is notorious for it. So, that's not your problem.

its your belts, not your timing chain.

the timing chain is supposed to last as long as the motor, and w/ some owners these motors have gone well beyond 200K and no problems w/ the timing chain.
