how to remove tranny from bottom

so I need to swap trannies and have a pretty good Idea of how im gonna do it but for all you who have done it I would like to know how you did it. I was gonna remove bottom subframe connector from the 2 motor mounts then stick a jack under the motor then unbolt tranny mount from engine bay and then unbolt tranny from the motor?

dont remove the subframe connector... just remove the entire intake, cv shafts, all the transmission electical, the coolant lines.... starter.... and get urself a transmission jack... dont forget to disconnect the torque converter too... should take you now longer than a hour to take it out...

You're telling me you can get the auto tranny out of your car (let's assume it's jacked up and on stands) in an hour!

Um you don't have to touch any coolant lines to drop the tranny...:

removing wheels
removing intake
removing starter
removing slave cyl.
disconnecting necessary plugs/sensors
unbolting front struts
DRAIN TRANNY
removing axles
disconnecting shift rods
removing crossmember (I did the front two) - have a jack under the oil pan of the motor...you'll need a tranny jack too - if not, better get someone strong to benchpress that ****
unbolting tranny
dropping tranny

Actually - he meant the fluid lines that run to the cooler built into the radiator.

Front 2 bolts, not the rear 2

You have to take the slave cylinder off the block

Don't be skeered, it's not really that heavy, 108 lb's I beleive. At first, I was wiggling it while my freind worked the jack that was underneath it, then I sayed 'screw this, get that jack out of there' and I just popped it out and muscled it down onto my chest. I removed the lower cross beam/motor mounts, the fsm and haynes says to remove them, and you have to let the motor down to get it out I think, at least it probably makes it easier. You have a motor lift so screw the jack/block under the oil pan, just hold the motor from the top with the lift.
