This is for the 97-99 Maxima's only please.
So, I ordered a set of the Custom Maxima Red Clear tail lights that they had on "sale" in the spring. Many of you probably remember this sale because they were selling them for 95us shipped. I thought it was a great deal so I went ahead and ordered. My Right side upper brake light (the clear bulb) goes into the socket, but it won't lock into place. Orginally I thought this "DEFECT" was just my set and grabbed the silicone and fixed it.

Today I was in the f/s section and it turns out that a few other members have had the same problem with their tail lights from CE.

Please post if you have this problem as well. I don't want to turn this into a *****fest about custommaxima and the product that they sell, so keep your comments limited to the topic.
Thanks.

I think that was a problem with the 95-96 red/clears they started selling a while back. This is the first issue I've heard of with the 97-99 ones.

I'm almost positive my red/clears came from CE initially (bought them unused from another .org member) and I had no fitment issues with the bulbs.

That is why I don't spend money on things I can do myself. I kind of copied the DTM tail light mod without smoking the inside, and it turned out great!!

ditto, the passenger side, upper bulb, the harness goes in but won't twist and lock. Had to use sticky tape to hold it. There was enough drama just getting them, so I had no motivation to argue about it. Annoying.

I'm sure that his lights and the CE lights come from the same source in japan (or whereever they are made). thanks for the info though, but these have allready been purchased, installed and now I'm just guaging how many other .org'ers have the same problem.

But they dont lock as secure as the stock ones did I modified mine and made them lock as good at the stock lights but still I aint very happy with their product and greg seemed to have no intention of letting me send these back for an exchange after I talked to him and he just told me I am sorry your having difficulties installing these and to contact tony. But I guess it since they had been installed

seems that not many of us are having a problem with them. Well what ever. I just did this for my own curisoity. Good tip about turning the harness the other way. I'm gonna have to try that.
