Guys,
I am good at DIY but I am confused about where the thermostat is on this beast. I think that I see it right below the timing chain cover. Can someone confirm about this? Also, does anyone know how much this will cost to replace? ITs not broken, but I am doing the flush/fill so I figured I might as well change it out.

Thanks,
SHUMAX

Follow the upper radiator hose (about 1 1/2 " dia)

from the radiator to the engine, and where it connects to the engine, you will probably find the thermostat housing. But, if it ain't broke, why are you changing it?

No-go there bud. If you follow the upper radiator hose it connects on the drivers side of the engine back near the back bank of plugs....the inlet to the engine doesn't look big enough to accomodate the thermostat. Now if you follow the lower radiator hose to the eninge it goes in right under the timing chain cover and looks like its plenty big to accept the thermostat....any more suggestions???

THanks,

SHUMAX

Thermo location

I have THE Nissan's manual for the 95. It is definitely located in the housing attached to the LOWER radiator hose. BTW I 'm a newbie to the site and just found it while looking for info on thermo problems. This is the second time I have to replace it (engin runs cold - thermo not closing all the way). 95 Max 108,000miles first replacement was at about 80,000. Why are you replacing yrs?

I got the housing/tstat from Courtesy as well as the gasket.
Courtesy is 15 minutes from the house.

Thanks for the help. You didn't get any antifreeze on the belt? That's pretty good given the tight location. I've been having a hell of a time finding someone who has one in stock. I've called 5 places. Isn't 6 supposed to be a charm? Wish me luck. thx again. enjoy the ride.
