NGK Platinum. I dont have the part #. An auto store would carry them. Dealer if it comes down to it.

I got the Bosch +4 platinum plugs. They cost about 6$ a piece. I recently changed mine and I really feel the difference. My gas mileage and the ride were improved dramatically.

This doesn't mean that Bosch plugs are good. It only means the old plugs were bad.

If you want to compare one brand of plugs to another you have to compare two sets of new plugs. Anything else is comparing apples to oranges.

PFR5G-11 is the factory equipment.

PFR4G-11 is the Nissan approved replacement if you want a hotter heat range
plug, suitable for
- frequent engine starts
- low ambient temperatures

PFR6G-11 is the Nissan approved replacement if you want a colder heat range
plug, suitable for
- extended highway driving
- frequent high engine revolutions

I suggest you stay with the 5G unless you have a specific reason for
changing to a hotter or colder plug.

I got the NGK Iridium IX from Monarch Products for $6.40 each, they work great, I know Daniel apples and oranges, but they did get rid of some dead spots.

1-888-800-9629

part number for the Iridium IX is BKR5EIX-11,

supposedly they make more power because the Iridium is a better conductor, I doubt you will notice any power except for what you have lost because of the older plugs

You could do the 60K service right away, 10K early. That will replace spark plugs and air cleaner filter. Maybe replace the fuel filter too. These items may be performance limiters.

If the "tired blood" symptom persists, do some basic diagnostic tests to evaluate the condition of the engine, fuel system, and exhaust system.

- Compression test (valves and rings)
- Intake manifold vacuum test (many things)
- Fuel pressure test (fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator)
- Oxygen sensors (fuel mixture)
- Exhaust system back pressure (clogged Catalytic Converter)
- Fuel injector sound and resistance (fuel injectors)

The results of these tests may point you in the right direction. Facts are better than guesses. There is nothing to be gained by replacing good parts with good parts.

the rims are only 17's but im sure that didn't help things but i did notice the change after i already had the rims put on. its not a big change just enough to feel. im going to do the 60k service suggested by Daniel and i would guess that would take care of it.

Bosch Plat +4s

I put the Bosch Plat +4s in at my 60K service. Great plugs, no problems. About $6 each (with a $10 card from AutoZone...bought a clay bar Recommend them. My max purrrrrrs. As Daniel B. says, do the 60K service and make sure that you change out the fuel filter! It's a bit tiresome to do. Hope that you have long fingers and small forearms When I pulled mine out it dribbled out black sand like stuff. Don't know if this was from the filter material decaying or what. Glad I replaced it.

Cheers

Did you have any problems installing the Iridium spark plugs? The reason I ask is the NGK web page talks about the Iridium IX plugs, but doesn't mention a part number when I do a search for plugs that will fit my vehicle (it mentions a platinum part #, but not an iridium #).
