can anyone identidy the name of this part on the dash?

On my max, the A/C vent in the middle, but on the leftside directly above the hazard light buton, was accidently pushed in. I was wondering anyone knows if that assembly is replaceable from nissan or am i stuck by resorting to searching at junkyards to replace that piece?

P.S.. Here is a picture of my car showing the dash

replace as one piece, check classified section or a junkyard to get the part. Should be real cheap at a junk yard for it . . . ~$20

Don't buy a new one. The directional tabs just came out of the mounting slots. Take the whole center air vent piece out of the dash and reassemble it. You shouldn't have to spend money on a new one unless it is cracked. But try taking it apart and looking at it for now.

dude, I think there's a bunch of those vent bezels on ebay right now:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...%26catref%3DC6

I did a search on "maxima clock"...you should also try "vent bezel"....I got my entire bezel with all the switches and clock for like $20 on ebay a while back....I know you only need the vent replaced, by hey, it's so cheap you can just change the whol thing out

good luck

nice licence plate. mine's up there too. did it crack your windshield, though? I wrapped the bottom of mine in a paper towel a bunch so it's snug and not scratchin anything.

Black Max...unfortrunately, those directional tabs you refering to are held in by two black plastic pieces on both sides, but one of them is missing..that pic i took doesnt show it clearly but those pieces are being held by the one on the right side...also that was about a month ago...now I have lost some of those pieces from them falling into the A/C vent

Natty, i believe that would be the best route, since i am missing a few of those tabs in the vent, I guess I should shold around for one with the same color trim.

86max...thanks and no, my windshield did not crack, maybe its a glare you're seeing from the sun, maybe i should try that because it doesn't stay snug all the time and makes a rattling noise. Thanks for the tip!

If its missing, it may be inside when you take it apart. I would check.

yeah, np. if it wasn't clear before, take a papertowel and kinda roll it up like you would a bandana, so it's about 1-2 inches in width. then just set the edge of the plate in the middle and just wedge it in place. should stay pretty well.
