I got a 96 maxima GXE with manual climate control settings and the heat and A/C fan was working perfectly when I first bought it 5 months ago. About after a month I noticed when I put the fan to blow on both upper and lower fans (feet and dash) the power of the fan dropped considerably, I can hardly feel it. When I put it on just feet or just dash it is very strong.

Anyone know what this could be?

There is only so much air the AC Blower Motor is going to move through the vents. When you only have the upper or lower vents open the air is more restricted so it will flow faster. If you have both of the upper and lower vents open then the air flow is less restrictive so air flow slows down.

i understand that but i have to put my hand right against the vent in order to feel anything, even then i hardly feel anything. it should not be that weak

it was stong and one day when i was driving the fan speed just died down and never came back.

Is the fan speed the same for all 4 settings?

Sounds like a dead/dying blower motor.

no, all other setting blow very strong except for the dual feet and dash setting. that is why i dont know what is going on.
