coolant leak issue

i have had a coolant leak for a while now and have just been re-filling my radiator... well im tired of it and i want to fix it.
the leak is dripping from the bottom of the oil pan kind of to the side..
no hoses are loose and i cant find where its coming from..
im getting a pressure test done tommarow and befor anyone tries to screw me what are some common problems besides hoses??
how and where could it be leaking from?

thanks in advance

when ur car is fully warmed up, is there any smoke that comes from the tailpipe? If so, what color is it?

Blue Smoke - Oil burning inside the engine (blow by)
Black Smoke - Burning too much fuel

WHITE SMOKE - Engine is burning coolant (blown head gasket, damaged cylinder head)

thats a good thing! haha.. no serious problems (as far as not being able to drive it to get it fixed)

Then there must be a leak somewhere. As previously stated it could be the waterpump. Check it for play (movement) if there is play, the bearings are most likely shot and the pump would need to be replaced. Check behind the pump itself if possible, and if there is some type of leakage, the gasket behind the pump is probably shot. Im pretty sure the pump would need to be replaced if the gaslet is shot as well.

If it's neither of these than is gotta be a hose somewhere.

You said that the leak drips down to the side of the oil pan correct? The water pump is right in that area...

prepare for a big bill my friend

lol everything is cheaper if you can do it yourself.

Replacing water pump-

The parts: $75
The Tools: $100
Having the knowledge and patients to do it: priceless

lol

(in case you decide to give it a whirl, or if the mechanic tries to charge you $200 for a new pump)

this happened to me last weekend....same leak in same place...pressure test was good and it turned out that the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator was loose and the coolant was moving along the top of the undercarriage and coming out where the water pump is...check that too.....

is that bad or normal... im really thinking about change this thing myself but i know it is probly one the most difficult tasks on the 4th gen.. what to do?

Youd be crazy to not do it yourself. Just dont drop anything into the timing cover. Very time consuming and patience
