Air Intake System from Ebay

Well I'm just curious if anyone here is running one of these systems.
I see them on Ebay for like $50 shipped which I think is cheap, maybe too cheap. Anyway, if anyone is running them, let me know how it is. I am just curious...... Thanks.

PS: I won't be able to check the board till later tonight when I get home.

You can get a genuine Place Racing CAI on ebay for about $20 more. You probalby know what their quality is like. I have one like you are talking about on another car I own. I't suitable for it's intended purpose, I have no complaints at all.

Yeah, be careful about cheapo products, sometimes they do not fit, matter of fact, just keep you stock intake, it's better.

Oh yeah I forgot to ask, what type of intake are you looking for? There is the short ram, Injen style CAI, Place Racing CAI, and the MAF sensor adapter cone filter. The info on them can be found in the stickies.

I got a CAI (in fender) from ebay... i forget the name it was a while ago. It was like 20-30 bucks. The filter was crappy as hell which I did not use anyway cause I had a pop-charger short ram filter which i re-used. The piping is just piping why pay 50+ dollars for some pipe...
Buy the cheap CAI and just get a K&N filter

i just recently installed one of these kits, and i would have to say it is pretty good. while the kit was intended to be mounted in the drivers side wheel well, i did not use the long downpipe and just made a short ram intake with a K/N filter. I have noticed more power at midrange, and increased gas mileage. Either way i would recommend it. It sounds pretty good too.

If you get the ebay cai don't use their midpipe, keep your stock and make a custom mount for the IAT. Also don't use their filter, it's too small get a regular sized one.

I bought one and it fit well, it just didn't come with the MAF adapter plate which has a the air intake temp sens flange on it. So i had to do some modification to make it work.

I think whenever you go to a certain section this site it should first automatically load the stickies cuz apparently nobody is reading them.

This would get rid of the redundant posts like these that go on for ages

What's the best CAI? What's the best y-pipe? How do I change my oil?

the piping on those systems tend to crack and what not. Also most of the filters that come with the systems are crap and restrictive
