help with Manual Climate Control??

hey guys...and gals. I did the climate control mod and it worked great for a while. But one day I left my lights on for just a second. Came back to the car and started it up and next thing you know...i see smoke and my interior lights go out!! The strange thing is that its only the light that are controlled by the dimmer (dash, climate control, and front window switches). Anyone have any suggestions on were I should look to fix this problem before I take my baby to the Nissan Hospital?? I went to a used auto parts store and got a new climate control piece but it still does not work. I'm think it's a wiring problem. Any help guys??

im assuming the 'climate control mod' is the LED mod.

check interior light fuse, the shematic is on the back of the fuse cover. you have extra fuses that sit vertically to the right, replace the blown (if so) fuse.. if the new fuse blows instantly when you put it in there, you prolly have an exposed wire touching metal somewhere causing a short..

need more info, your explination is too difficult to comprehend..

PS when this same thing happened to my gf's 99, turned out to be the LED that lights up the ring around the keyhole to start the car, was broken, and the metal pieces inside were touching each other, which caused a short.

yes I'm talking about the climate control led mod. I did everything right I thought. It worked great for a while (bout a year) but then one night i turned the car off and ran inside for a second but left the headlights on. When I crunk the car up, I smelled burning and then my interior lights went out. Only the lights that work off the dimmer though. Could it be a problem with that switch?? Any electrical people out there please help?
