Anyone know about Minwax Polyurethane?

I bought a used 5-speed tranny mount from a local orger and he threw in a can of this Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane. It says "Long Lasting Protection - Beauty", "Clear Gloss" on the can. I opened it up and it looked clear and liquidy. I'm not sure if this is intended for filling-in the motor mounts. Has anyone heard of this stuff before??

Thanks.

BTW, this is what the mount looks like right now.

If you're gonna do it, do it in layers... let each layer dry first.

And whichever route you choose, clean the surfaces real well, maybe even roughen up the surface to increase surface area. Good luck.

He told me that he read of a write-up using something similar to this stuff. Not sure if the write-up is from here or another board. This stuff is thin that I know that ductape won't hold it in w/o seeping thru it.

What's wrong w/them? W/the write materials, they come out pretty good. W/some creativity I'm sure something durable and effective can be made for cheap.

polyurethane sealer for wood is compleatly different than say window urethane (which may work in the mounts). your friend is a compleat moron. i dont see how you could mix them up. they are 2 totally different things.
