Close call with over-heating!
#1
Hello:
Today I was driving around town, doing my regular commute, and then I start to notice that the temp needle was starting to climb, it got up to 3/4 of the gauge, so I decided to pull to the curve and turn my engine off. I waited for about an our to let the engine cool down, after that I turned the engine on and headed to the nearest shop, that was only five blocks away. The engine didn't heat up again but the mechanic told me that it was probably the thermostat, since the radiator was full of fluid and both my fans are operating properly, so he recommended that it should be replaced.
It took him a couple of hours to get the part and replace it, now my car drives better, I don't know if it's my imagination or the car was running hot before.
Just wanted to let everybody know, since my max only has 40000 miles on it. I'm glad that I noticed before it was too late.
Peace.
