4th Gen Won't Start....
Ok guys, here's the deal. I have a friend with a 97 Maxima, that won't start.
Symptoms: The starter turns the motor, but it just will not catch and run by itself. When the starter is turning the motor, it is wanting to catch and start, but it falls short of doing so every time.
Replaced: Battery and plugs (which were both SICKLY OLD).
It is a 5-speed, and it WILL start when pushed and dropping the clutch. It runs fine once started. But it will not start by itself. I am getting fuel to all plugs, as there is fuel present on all plugs and a fuel smell in every cylinder. And I don't think it can be the coilpacks because again, once it is started, it runs PERFECT with no problems.
ECU codes: The ECU is throwing some codes off. 7:5, 9:3, and 5:3. Right front heated O2 sensor, Evap canister, and Evap valve.
All of these I know will not affect this car starting.
Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated so I can help my friend out. Thanks so much guys......
